Exercise

The 2000 revision of the Declaration of Helsinki had two issues that required clarification. One issue, Paragraph 29, suggested that it was not ethical to use a placebo. The 2002 clarification, however, states that a placebo-controlled trial may be ethically acceptable, even if proven therapy is available.

What are the circumstances where placebo is acceptable?
